EIGHTEEN VALENTINES and COUNTING…

Valentine-Photos-1

I know we never had the perfect relationship but we are trying our best to keep our vows to remain in each others arms until death do us part. It is not an easy journey indeed. We encountered a lot of difficulties, hardships, temptations, weaknesses and despair and I know that there are yet to come. Come what may, we will be able to weather the storm together. Two is better than one because when the other will stumble and fall, the other can help and carry you back up again. (Ecclesiastes 4:9- 10) It is by helping one another through thick and thin that we can make our love afire and our relationship even stronger to withstand against all odds. Getting married is quite tedious but being married and staying married is another story. It requires a lot of hard work, patience, understanding, respect, faith, trust and love to make it last. The commitment in our relationship defines our success in marriage.

Yes, eighteen years of roller coaster ride with you. It was bumpy and rough, full of twists and turns, however, it was one hell of a good ride and I want to do it all over again just with you, my love. I am proud that we have reached this milestone together. I’ll look forward to more blissful years for us.

“A successful marriage requires falling in love many times, always with the same person.”

PAPA’s 8th

Today marks my father’s 8th year death anniversary. It’s already been so long since he passed away but it seemed just yesterday. We still missed him so badly. I know that he is now at peace and we will meet again someday in heaven.

Losing a loved one is one of the most difficult experiences we inevitably have to face. The grief, the pain, the emptiness could be overwhelming. Yes, it is not easy to just accept that the person who once a part of our everyday life had been gone and no matter what we do, we cannot change the fact that we have to continue living without them. At the height of the situation, we could be weakened and discouraged. Yet, as time went by, we can come to accept the light of what happened and acceptance and understanding will now furtively creep into our being. We will be renewed and be encouraged again to thrive in the remaining days of our lives. We are only sojourners here on Earth and when our time comes, we are to leave as well and we will be reunited with our Maker.

As we remember the passing of my father, I am also reminded that He is now in the care of the loving hands of God. We only have to rejoice and lament no more.

“All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again.” – Ecclesiastes 3:20
